These free color by number printables are made as detailed mosaics with small 3 mm cells. This type of coloring page is often called a mystery color by number or Mystery Mosaic: you start with a coded grid instead of a clear finished picture, and the image becomes easier to recognize as more cells are filled with color. If you prefer not to know the result in advance, you can simply work from the page title and color key.

I create and check every design myself, paying attention to both the picture and the palette. I keep the colors practical, so you do not need dozens of almost identical shades to complete a page. Each color family uses no more than three levels — light, regular, and dark. If you do not have the exact shade shown in the palette, just use a similar one you already have. The important thing is to keep the difference between the lighter and darker areas.

For each design, you can download five printable PDF versions: circles on a white background, circles on a black background, squares on a white background, squares on a black background, and a completed Color Sample with the palette. Each page also has an interactive Reveal image. It stays hidden until you click it, then flips to show the finished colored design. If you want to keep the picture a surprise, simply leave the Reveal closed and skip the Color Sample.
